Bright Sparkling Gem of a Guest Bath

Bright Sparkling Gem of a Guest Bath

Dark windowless bathroom turns into a sparkling gem

Dark, dated and windowless bathroom to turn into a bright, sparkling gem!

First of all, drawings are so important! Every time I go over to this job site, I have this drawing in hand, the contractor has this drawing in hand and the sub has this drawing in hand – along with the Reflective Ceiling Plan I created.   Plus, I found a rumpled copy of this on the floor – now who is without a drawing? Always issues when you open up the walls and ceiling of an older home! But we have addressed all of the challenges (a bowed out wall at the back of the bathtub, joists in the way of our lighting plan, an unexpected vent in the ceiling). Oh, and did I add that most of these challenges were addressed in complete darkness with just a handheld light? The electricity was off and this windowless bathroom let in absolutely no light.  When we are finished, this bathroom will be bright and sparkling.  Inspired by a jewelry shop display, this bathroom will take on a new life. Goodbye dark green granite tub surround and counter top.  Goodbye dark green walls and brass fixtures.  Hello white subway tile, white Carrera marble countertops and the most exquisite pendants and sconces decorated with Swarovski crystals. I will post pictures of this little gem when construction is complete.
