Bathroom Oasis

This home in South Austin was built as a Garden Style home in the 80’s. The Master Bath is large in scale with an elevated round tub installed in a corner full of windows and a small shower tucked into another corner. The client needed he bathroom to be accessible for a wheelchair. All was removed from the bathroom except the bi-level vanity, which was updated with a marble top and a glass tile backsplash along with new hardware and paint. Walls were blocked for grab bars and a toilet room was built with space for a wheelchair turnaround. The floor was sloped towards the corner where a wet area was created housing a smaller tub and a roll-in shower. Small white penny rounds dot the wet area floor providing a no-slip surface. This bathroom remodel provides complete accessibility and becomes the poster child for the definition of both pretty and practical.
