Situated in the middle of the hill country, on the banks of a winding stream, this home was built in early 2000 with modern building materials such as concrete and metal mixed with classic hill country touches of limestone and wood. Floor to ceiling windows let light stream in and offer picturesque views of the countryside. One spacious room encompasses the kitchen, dining, living and family areas along with a small sitting room off to one side. This large room was filled with inherited furniture that did not quite fit the space. The client wanted a more contemporary feel to the home with furniture that would better define each specific area. Space plans were laid out that created smaller areas within the larger open space. Furnishings were selected that exhibited simple, classic lines to contrast with the texture of the limestone walls and roughened wood lintels. Warm subtle grays play off of bright apple green fabrics, adding color and vibrancy that unify the different seating areas. The combination of these sleek and sculptural modern classics with the classic hill country building materials, give the home a clean and streamlined look while maintaining its warm and inviting appeal.
