This large home sits high in the hills above Lake Austin with expansive views of the water.
It was built in the late 80’s with tall ceilings, simple details and a lack of custom millwork. The client wanted to make the home feel more cozy and comfortable with luxurious details. Tall columns of graceful white linen draperies were added at every window for both glamour and acoustics. Wainscot was installed to cozy up the tall spaces and then painted a soft, warm white. Crown molding was stacked to glamorous heights and installed throughout the house. Marble tops were placed on shelves, ledges and countertops. High quality French antiques were purchased to mix in with newly reupholstered furniture, freshly outfitted in lush fabrics and gorgeous trim. Large chandeliers, cabinet hardware and faucet handles of Swarovski crystal were added throughout the house. Custom cut area rugs of lush carpeting hug the curving walls. Beautiful marble tiles were installed that feature intricate patterns such as a Carrara marble basketweave on the curved walls of the Powder Room and Crema Marfil arabesque shapes along the walls of the bar. The plush details and luscious materials make this home a place of beauty with numerous comfortable and elegant areas to relish and enjoy.
